The Upper Tweed Community Cinema (The Film Club) has been bringing
interesting, entertaining and unusual films to the people of Broughton and
beyond since 2003.
The years have seen a wide choice of cinematic fare on offer and have taken
us on a variety of journeys:- from old sci-fi to new blockbusters, stories of
other village communities to snapshots of life in foreign lands...
An award from Lottery Awards for All allowed the upgrade of our projection
and sound equipment to provide a large cinema screen and surround sound - all without the hike to Edinburgh, Galashiels or even Biggar.
Our continuing successful existence is due to the support of the local
community through membership fees and guest tickets at screenings -
we thank you all!
We screen a film each month at Broughton Village Hall from October to
April, with a special seasonal event in December. Membership is
just £35 per year per member and gives admission to six screenings,
together with a complimentary drink - that's only £5.00 per show.
Guests are welcome to pay at the door for £8.00, but regulars are encouraged to
join to help maintain and support the club.
Join up at the first screening. Catch up with the locals while enjoying
your complimentary glass of wine, beer or soft drink and sit in comfort on
our comfortable padded seats!
We look forward to seeing you for another great season of
films!
