Long Service Certificate Presented to John Burnett
It isn't often that someone can claim to have served the church as an elder for over 50 years. This year John Burnett completed his 50th year as an elder in the Parishes of Upper Tweeddale and his 57th year as an elder within the Church of Scotland as a whole. In honour of that, and with thanks for his tireless contribution to the life of the church in Upper Tweeddale Rev John Smith, current locum minister for the parishes, presented a long service certificate to John at today's joint service in Tweedsmuir.
Sundae Sunday
On 16th June we held our second Sundae Sunday service in Tweedsmuir Village Hall. This joint service brought all four churches together in worship lead by Rev John Smith followed by ice cream and a myriad of toppings. The Sundae Service also provides an opportunity to add to the funds collected for Christian Aid this year.

A lot of work went into the provision and serving of the ice cream and the preparation of the hall, so a big thank you goes to Christine and Gavin, Isobel and Fiona, and indeed all others who helped out.
